    I don't have warranty anymore and I'm not interested in paying $5k for a new DSG as I wouldn't buy a used transmission. The D1-D-D1 issue hasn't gotten worse over the past couple years so I doubt my transmission is blowing up anytime soon, especially since I track it and it's still working fine.

    Isn't that for a lot of products in the EU though, not just cars? It looks like a lot of stuff are priced 1:1 in terms of the amount, with some deviations obviously. For example, iPhone 16 is 949 EUR while USA is $799 USD + tax. Crazy.

    I believe the prices in the EU include all applicable VAT. Don't forget Europeans generally earn less than North Americans either. North America has some of the cheapest cars in the world.
