So the bad news is that 5H0853630 DPJ doesn't fit. It's just the silver and back plate. They don't fit in the existing assembly, even with some filing down etc it too small. Looks like I will have to change the entire emblem assembly

have you had any luck figuring out of any of the rear vw badges off other model may be suitable on a mk7.5 gti?
