What did you do to your mk7 today?

That sucks bad. I hate to hear this, but I guess it was inevitable. As times are changing, so is ease of use. When cars can drive themselves (to their demise), the effort a human requires to simply drive somewhere with a stop and go pedal is too much, let alone shift through gears. I'm hoping I...

What did you do to your mk7 today?

Ordered new brake kit from FCP with their Labor Day coupon. Saved on sales tax more or less. About time. The bite has significantly gone down. Original pads and rotors at 40k. The rotors could of probably gone to 60k or so as the average life of rotors, but I rather have a fresh set to go with...

What did you do to your mk7 today?

I'm with you man. Been meaning to for awhile. I've actually pondered going 17s for lighter weight? Or say "f" it, I don't have a race car, stick with the 18s, don't need to mess with suspension then and can swap the rubber over to the new rims.

What did you do to your mk7 today?

Curb rashed my front passenger side Austin yesterday backing out of spot near curb. Sucks. Haven't done that in years and blame it being on the phone/distracted while I was reversing and misjudged how close I was to the curb when turning out of the spot. Oh well. Maybe I'll just get new rims...

    Sunroof Leak lawsuit

My 17 has 39k miles on it, about to roll over to 40k. While I can't see that I've leaked yet, does this mean if I were to take it to VW in the event that it did leak and required service, it would be covered to an extent? Mostly asking because I've been super hesitant using the sunroof at all...

Tires rubbing but car barely lowered

I guess, in the end, it doesn't hurt to do the mod. It's quick and simple and saves all kinds of headaches. Perhaps I didn't have to raise the front THAT much and only do the screw mod? Who knows, but I actually prefer where it sits now. A lot more comfortable ride.

Tires rubbing but car barely lowered

Honestly man, I had no issues with the all seasons that came from the factory or my winters. I was pretty damn low too. Like the fender in the front was probably 8-10mm below the top of the tire. All my issues began once I just put on these new summer tires a few weeks ago. If you think this...

APR DTR6054 Direct Turbocharger Replacement System

I haven't been in this thread in months or maybe at this point a year has passed since the initial thread start. After all said and done, it sounds like this would make a solid upgrade if your IS20 blows. Otherwise, in NJ and not caring so much about speeding like a nut anymore, I'm happy with...

Tires rubbing but car barely lowered

Hey man, well my new summer tires are more meaty than the winter or all seasons which started this problem. That said... did the mod last night. Zero rubbing this morning taking the same roads I always do where I've always hit the same spots that it would rub on. As far as how low I went with...

Tires rubbing but car barely lowered

I'm happy to hear that. I initially thought my car came with the fenders rolled, but evidently not and the screw is still in there. I'm going to perform this either tonight or this weekend. Hoping this resolves my issue. I'm wondering though since you changed out your front 15mm spacers. I'm...

What did you do to your mk7 today?

What did you do to your mk7 today? Well, not today, but yesterday, I was reversing down the driveway in the morning for work and every time I scrape a bit as I roll into the street. Well, I guess my mud flap had enough and it finally scraped enough that it pushed the mud flap under my tire...

What did you do to your mk7 today?

I need this. The OEM once is badly saturated with tire shin lube that I can't get out. Anything I put back there comes out with the grease all over the bottom, lol.

Tires rubbing but car barely lowered

Wondering too, if I adjust the coil over to "Hard" vs soft, if this would add more restriction/remove some bounce.

Tires rubbing but car barely lowered

I'm literally having this right now since I had new summer tires installed. I also have the flush kit and had the car lowered just enough to remove the wheel gap. While rear appears Okay, the front rubs anytime I hit something uneven and it's quite annoying. I was about to ask if anyone kept...

Any recommendations for a dealer in NJ?

I purchase my MK6 GTI from Trend in 2013... It was a pretty easy buying experience. Can't say much about the price though. They charged the going rate at the time. Since you're in the market for something they know someone will pay what they're asking for, highly doubt you're going to get a deal...

Clunking sound in rear of car

Honestly, nothing has changed between the 034 and OEM in regards to the sound. Though the rear has definitely tightened up. That said, I also had 034 mounts on my coil overs on the Mk6 GTI and no issues at all with them. I've personally not heard anyone say to stay away from 034 mounts, in fact...

Did not replace the rear bar endlinks with the install. Everything was OEM minus what was included with this kit...

Clunking sound in rear of car

So I picked up the 034 shock mounts and installed them this past weekend. I initially thought the sound went away, but it came back relative quick after a short drive around town. Thus, I'm ruling out them as having been the issue (though weird that it appeared to go away briefly). I'm not all...

Clunking sound in rear of car

Thanks man. I'll keep this in mind if I can't find anything loose once I get under there. Is there any way to know for sure that it is this? Can I yank on a part or something to determine it's bad? I'm not all that experienced with suspension aspects.

Clunking sound in rear of car

Sounds like I'm experiencing this now. Been for the past couple weeks. Been waiting on warmer/non rainy weather to get under and have a look. Looks like this weekend will be a no go with rain also. It appeared to develop after I ran over some hard snow backing out of the driveway one morning...
