Thanks for the feedback. @GTIfan99 I have a RacingLine front/rear subframe alignment kit going in with new OEM bolts, and it’s going on the rack after. I’m going to play around with XDS / VAQ settings from there if the front end is still feeling weird.

Just when I thought I had myself convinced that THIS car would remain stock, I can confirm once again the DQ381 software is positively terrible. For such a great platform, man did VW screw up the TCU mapping. It literally feels like a CVT. Anyone out there driving a 2019+ GTI with a 7-speed DSG...

Do a subframe alignment kit and new subframe bolts. What you are describing is a common issue with these cars.

VAQ is the PP LSD.

I find it very difficult to believe that without any basic settings, this controller can adapt to different springs, dampers, and ride heights. What are the limitations to this? How is it calculating these adaptations? @Arin@APR

I have a buddy that’s a service manager at a VW store who’s willing to give it a try. Fingers crossed. I will report back.

After reading this, I am looking forward to disabling XDS. I really do not love the rolling resistance it creates. A bigger rear sway bar should help the car turn in, and the VAQ can work from there. A subframe alignment kit will help square everything nicely.

@Arin@APR how does this controller adjust for ride height? With a factory DCC controller, basic settings make a night & day difference in ride quality with a lowered suspension. I am curious how the APR controller adapts to different springs and ride heights.

Does anyone know if VAQ basic settings can be done by the dealer? I do not have OBD11 and I am due for a diff service anyway. I am good with leaving VAQ / XDS with factory settings, I just want them returned to stock (without any adapted learning).
