hi all, I’m trying to identify the part that sits directly behind the egr cooler.
It has 2 ports on it for cooling water to connect to, just not sure what it is.

Ive attached photos but it’s hard to actually take a photo of it as it’s well merged in under the hoses.

move tried searching ebay parts for a resemblance but can’t find anything that looks similar 😔

Is it the DSG cooler? It’s hard to tell what you’re looking at specifically.
I know mate, it’s so hard to show on the photos, I’ll take a few more once I’m home. I’ll Google dsg cooler to see if it looks like it in the meantime

It has 2 brass barbs for water cooling to connect to and it’s a metal construction with plastic bolted to it, but I’ll try send a better set of photos

It’s an absolute nightmare to get a solid shot but these are the best I can get 😔
even if I can sort of work out where it goes to I can work out what it’s cooling.
Here are the best I can get hopefully the location of it will benefit somehow

If I had an exploded cooling water diagram I could trace the component down, but I can’t seem to find one

Still so hard to indentify 🙈 nightmare haha
I’ll keep trying
I would print the above diagram. There are obvious items you can eliminate right from the start. Heater core, radiator, EGR cooler, etc. From there I would look at your car and determine if the part is attached to the engine or not. If it is, those are shown in the diagram as attached to the block. 4, 16, and 17. You can also eliminate the check valves and such. It only leaves a handful of items it could be. You would need to compare the hose connections of what you do know and really should help determine what that is.
