I recently ordered an APR boost gauge from ECS along with a couple other items. I opened the large box and the smaller APR box was inside. The APR-labeled tape had obviously been cut open and taped back shut with regular clear packing tape, and it looked like a prior shipping label may have been applied and then torn off. When I opened the box I found that the backlight bulb had previously been installed and removed. It has the bulb at one end, two wires running out of the bulb. The wires went into two butt connectors which had been crimped on, and then on the other side of the butt connectors someone had just snipped the wires. Seems they just tossed it into the box with the butt connectors still attached and called it good, taped it up and shipped it.
I emailed them on Tuesday morning to ask about it out of concern I had been sold a returned product, and as of this afternoon (Thursday) haven't heard back. Fortunately the gauge looks to be in good condition and the hardware is sealed in bags, though I haven't looked closely enough to see if the bags have been re-sealed or are unopened.
Has anyone had a similar experience with ECS?
