  • thanks very much for responding Steve.

Where do you notice the main difference in power delivery with the MTM upgrade. Was it a big noticeable increase i.e. exciting !!

I've always had tuned saabs (tuned by saab specialists) and struggled to find any comparable recommendations for remapping the Bitdi so was pleased to find your posts. I'm just a little wary of the tuning box so will ring MTM....

    Thanks again.
    Chris
So the BiTDI - there's a beast! Mines now sold as I got an offer I couldn't refuse! No doubt you've found the gearbox issue with the delay in down-change when you need it and having to manually down-change when going to overtake. Most people are aware of it including Audi but they wont re-amp the g/box software. MTM is just out of this world 381hp/781nm torque...torque is mind-blowing and you've got a under 5 sec 'diesel' that is more powerful that some supercars four times the price and will still turn-out 50mpg! There are now companies offering the gearbox re-map, so I would look to get that done too. And that's it - you don't need to do anymore and the OEM set-up can handle it without any more upgrades! The pedal box might be interesting on it...a great wolf in sheep's clothing. I loved the fact how understated it is...what a car!

    Anything else let me know.

    Good luck Chris.
Hey Chris, thanks for your message. A nice pair of cars :).

The DTUK box is a great product but I'd always wanted a custom re-map, one designed and engineered for the car rather than a generic one size fits all. I didn't like the idea of DTUK and all the power maps! You mess around a bit and then leave it on 1+1 or 2+1. The Carbon Chip is the one, it's very aligned to OEM power maps. I still still have the pedal box fitted which gives instant take off from the start with no adverse fuel consumption effects. They combine to make a good pairing. In addition I've added the Audi TT shortshift which is a nice update (you don't have to do the 42DD bushes - that's personal choice). You can also add the panel air-filter too but there's no advantage with a CAI - they have no effect. I like the VWR springs - still very much OEM but the front in now quite low on mine with the front splitter fitted!

Part 2. BiTDI to follow due to message limits...

    All the best

    Steve
