Paying that much for something that's less convenient and doesn't have a provision for resale or logging is not something I would recommend.Dude you can get an APR tune for $500 + less than an hour of dealer labor. And they’re one of the most experienced in that list. It’s ok to have a tuner preference, but at least give the guy correct info.
Edit: and some dealers flash Uni too so you don’t need their dongle either
I have personal preferences for tuning but they're not any of the companies I've mentioned, so I'm not sure I'd claim bias.
