JB4 Logging, stacking and Map 6 Discussion

Got some logging done with Map 4. Trying to take advantage of this cold weather and build map 6.

Can someone give some settings for map 6 to try?

Logs https://datazap.me/u/jackphom/jb4-m...-pull?log=0&data=1-8-11-12&solo=11&mark=57-81

https://datazap.me/u/jackphom/map-4-second-log?log=0&data=1-4&solo=4&mark=212

Don't use someone else's settings. There are too many variables. I also wouldn't use Map 4 as your baseline unless you're running E85. Start with Map 1. Your logs have a lot of junk in them, too. Start the log at 3rd gear 2500rpm and run it up to your 4th gear shift then stop the log.

That said, there's some data in the middle of your second log that's pertinent. You're getting a little timing pull but nothing alarming. Map 4 is +6psi with a taper. Set up your initial Map 6 to look just like your Map 4 log. Run the logs again. That's your starting point. I'd also point out that it's cold in NYC now and your Map 6 created during boost season is probably going to be too hot for the summer. If you want to run your car on the edge, you need to keep checking logs as the temperature and fuel changes during the year.

So I've been going through some of he old posts in this thread and came across this Map 6 from user Perry01 from around 2017. Holy smokes...the car pulls hard above 4k. He also has a more agressive map with more above 5k. I didn't get a chance to go pedal to the floor...but even at 3/4 throttle...the car pulls harder than Map 3.

Will my motor asplode?

Map 4 looks great. I'd leave it over the winter and maybe tweak up when summer gas returns. You can usually add a pound. Winter air will become more dense and gas has less knock resistance so if it were me. I wouldn't put it on the edge at this time of year, where you're at.

Thanks, I think this may be it for me with the jb4 and time to get an accessport.

I'll give it a go, isn't it still 6 psi +?
Yes and not as tapered up top, I think, but your map 3 is almost clean and it won't hurt anything. I believe Map 4 was tailored for 7 speed Auto Rs and the way they launch. Map 3 should be a bit stronger on a full run.

Map 4 will be borderline with that fuel, even in your cold temperatures. I'd give it a run first to see worst case. Then change the fuel and run it again.
Thanks for the feedback - what is causing the concern? (it's my first day looking through all the forums and trying to learn lol)

I have access to E85 just a few km away - I've heard that this can clear things up and if so what % should I be aiming for? e15-e20?

Screenshot inserted - I'm assuming I want ign_2, 3, 4 at 0, correct?

New logs here with some fresh gas - also did a Map 0 log on the 91 I had in the take before fill up (turns out I was getting a bit of knock stock). Any idea why my AFR and trims are spiking between 3300-3700? Do I need to adjust my FOL? It is currently sitting at 45 and fuel bias all 100.

Map 0: https://datazap.me/u/camelgolf/map-0-91-octane-shell
Map 1, 3rd gear: https://datazap.me/u/camelgolf/map-1-94-octane-petro-3rd-gear?log=0&data=1-4-14-18

Edit: Also ran Map 4 just to see, but from what I've learned so far it doesn't look good... https://datazap.me/u/camelgolf/map-3-petro-94?log=0&data=1-14-25-26-27-28

probably just glitches on those spikes. Try map 2 and unless you start using some e85, I doubt there's reason to do much more outside some minor gains up top from a custom map.

Good to know re: glitches. I haven't moved to map 2 yet, but I pulled two new 3rd gear logs after I pumped in a little under 2 gals of E85. Looks better hey?

panel filter (otherwise bone stock)
it's a q3 with the gti is20 motor (traded in my 2016 is38 GTI last month)

93 octane sheetz fuel
about 60f outside today
Run was 3rd gear, slight uphill grade

Thoughts and feelings on how much more I can push it? Does the boost look to be where map 2 is supposed to be?

https://datazap.me/u/nkresho/log-1639664781?log=0&data=1-4

Pulls smoothly and feels strong, but boy, is she a heffer compared to the GTI

preemptive thanks
