Good morning gents,

got an update at some random time in the morning to say my GT fender badges are currently being dispatched from Atlanta GA in the US of A!

managed to get the exact fitting positions of the “Fender” blades/badges from a GTI forum so have ordered the 5mm detailing tape to make sure I get OEM fitment as below:

My MK5 GT badge for the rear has arrived and I’m pretty much decided on removing the Golf badge (or at least the “olf” part) and installing the T to keep the OEM positioning.

Quite liked the idea of the Golf on the left and the GT on the right but getting them “lined” identically is proving to be a bit of a mare although I have shouted the gent who posted the blade positioning to see where he got it from.

I have the positioning info as have all the MK7 & MK7.5 workshop manuals.

The badges have arrived from Atlanta, Georgia.

And they are looking well. Only took a week.

Now to get them on 😁👍

Feck!!!.......looks good!(y)

Glad you managed to get a set!

I keep toying with the idea of a script badge saying "Granturismo" on the trim above the glovebox...like the Maserati Granturismo has...

Got a few other mods I'm catching up with!!

Thanks Dave 👍

it was your input that educated me to their existence 😁

bloody expensive getting them across from the states but they do look ace.

I have always liked the blade badges on the GTI/GTD’s and I think they will look well when they are on.

The weathers to be gash until Sunday so they will get applied once the rain stops.

Will get pics when applied👌

I had thought about a badge there as well ( GT) but I was always wary about the airbag deployment and it potentially firing said badge like a plastic bullet.

not sure if that would happen but it always gave me the fear 😨

Nope..not if you mount it on the existing trim strip like this:-

Looks absolutely fantastic 👌
Managed to source a pair from the US myself! Now just waiting on them too. Looks OEM :) 👍
Thank you sir!

and good news on the badges coming from the US👍, got mine from Jim Ellis VW in Atlanta only took a week from point of order.

don’t know why they don’t come with them as standard. Sets the car off just right.

if you use the surround that comes with them you will get them on to the OEM measurements as per the workshop manuals 👌

did you get your Badges on the front and rear yet?

Hi All,
I fitted a Maxton Design Front splitter & sides skirts, Mirror caps, and spoiler extenders along with the GT Badge on the front.
When all fitted it's quite subtle but still quite nice.

I'm still waiting on the side blades from the US as my seller left me down.
I've decided against the gloss black GTi style fog light cover but, if anybody wants them - PM me

Love to get your feedback and ideas to continue the MK7 Golf GT that VW never made us lol

Good morning Cashy,

looking well sir!

I think shying away from the fog covers is the right choice but the maxton front and sides look very well.

once you get the blades on they will contrast with the skirts and caps well 👍

I’ve got muddies on mine which is half the reason I stayed away from doing the side splitters. and the speed bumps are like anti tank measures around here as well ☹️

nice work though sir,you will have the mod bug now!

You doing anything to the engine?
