Turns out the floor is fiberglass-ish covering honeycomb cardboard filled foam. Cut out for compressor to fit in….can’t let cardboard get hot 😳

this is a thing? you'll lose some coolant by the way.
The plastic piece that’s there can become brittle and leak over time. If you’re doing work in that area anyway, it makes sense to replace it.

EQT discharge pipe & TMD (photo taken before the clamps were tightened)… I definitely had some oil in the charge pipes… normal?

Autocrossed it on Friday night and gave it a full exterior wash this morning.

I installed $36 under-seat face mask drawer from AliExpress this afternoon.

In case you’re interested, the drawer install required two bolts and two speed nuts from the dealership. Part numbers are N–900–880-03 and N-907-371-07

Technically did this last weekend while waiting for Henri to blow through. Wish the yellow covered better but for the $3 total the paint cost me, whatever.

Replaced the burnt out led panel for my door sill light.

Link to the drawer?
This is the one I bought.

US $36.00 35% Off | Manual Seat Drawer Storage Box Glove Box for Golf 7and7.5 MK7 MK7.5 Jette Touran L Octavia Variant A3

I think that the seat side trim may have been slightly different on earlier cars.

As a result, there is a half inch to three-quarter inch gap between the side trim and the drawer. Regardless, it’s basically invisible because of its position.

You replaced your gun drawer with a mask drawer?
Yes, odds are that I am far more likely to be killed by Covid than I am by an assailant.

I came here to say this lol.

That’s not statistically accurate at all, unless you’re obese & or have underlying conditions.
I appreciate you being willing to engage in this conversation @GTI Jake. Most people seriously overestimate the risk to themselves from violence.

I realize that my individual risk is not the same as overall risk across the country, but on average, Americans are much more likely to die of Covid than they are from violence.

In the USA, about 54 people a day die of gunshot wounds.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/06/14/2021-gun-violence/

In June, about 342 people a day were dying of Covid in the USA.

Thinking about all of my friends and family, I can name far more people who had a friend or relative die of Covid rather than of violence.

Lastly, owning a gun actually makes you much more likely to be killed by a gun. I urge you to read this article with an analysis of how that works.

You forgot to mention how many lives per day are preserved by a good guy with a gun.

I’ve personally used my firearm in a potentially life threatening situation involving a LEO who was out numbered and in a physical confrontation & the end result was the good guys got to go home and nobody was killed or even went to the hospital.

I won’t try to talk you out of wearing a mask, I could care less if you do or don’t. But I can save you a bunch of time & effort by simply saying I’ll continue to carry my firearms regardless of anything anyone says.

Just reading the link, which mentions suicide in the title, is all the explanation you need. The spin of painting mental health issues as gun issues is the same as blaming spoons for obesity.

Also, comparing a average to a peak or above average is a tactic someone with a valid point wouldn’t make. I don’t have to be disingenuous to explain why a properly trained and mentally fit person should be allowed to carry a firearm.

Lumping legal gun ownership with violence in general is also not a fair point. It’s statistically extremely rare for a person who legally owns & carries a firearm to commit a violent crime.
