Outside of pulls does one perform better than the other? Perhaps when sitting in traffic? I'd imagine the stock mount heat soaking easier than a front mount.
When sitting in traffic if the AC is running the stock mount location would get the benefit of the fan running to keep it a little cooler than a true front mount.

having 2 intercoolers while sitting in traffic is better than just 1. most of the air being sucked in from the fan should still be passing the fmic

I just installed the G-plus forge knockoff the other day, purchased on ebay for about $300. I took some logs before and after so I wanted to post them here for the pourpose of archiving and sharing the data. I did 3 back to back pulls before the install and 3 back to back after. I attempted to combine each of the three groups into one graph on datazap. If I am doing this wrong please let me know as I have only used datazap a couple of times. My car is FBO and the logs are on JB4 Map 2 with E30 fuel. The logs were on two separate days but it was about 85 each day.

Stock intercooler:
https://datazap.me/u/vwgtilife/stock-intercooler-runs-map-2?log=0&data=1-4

Gplus intercooler:
https://datazap.me/u/vwgtilife/gplus-twintercooler-map-2?log=0&data=1-4

I copied and pasted the url form the graph in my datazap account so if I am doing it wrong just let me know. Thanks

Interesting. Based on those logs, the intercooler had no discernable impact on IATs. While under boost, the temps were generally within 1% of each other.

Yeah i may need to relook at the logs. In jb4 it says that my logs are grouped by one hour, so does that mean that the groups of three logs would show up as the first two logs since they were done on different days/hours, or would it be the most recent 6 logs in my jb4? I took the most recent 6, the most recent 3 for gplus intercooler and the next three down for stock intercooler

So I ended up flashing EQT stage 2 tune. Here is a log I did this afternoon with ambiant temp around 85 or so:

https://datazap.me/u/vwgtilife/eqt-stage-2-93-octane?log=0&data=1-4

I am still seeing kinda high iat's, im thinking about pulling the bumper off and checking the inside of the hoses on the twintercooler like chrismk7 suggested.

One thing that happened after this pull is that my JB4 went from Map 0 passthrough to Map 4 on its own. Does anyone know how or why the JB4 would do this? Im running Firmware Version: 60/85//5.

Thanks

Ait does climb almost like a stock intercooler. 30f over ambient during wot isn’t ideal but it isn’t bad. It was difficult looking at the parameters, I’m on mobile. I’d still expect your ait at wot to be a bit lower though.

Well it is a lot better then when IATs went over 140 with similar ambient, also remove the JB4 now and log with the AP.

Nice data and yeah strange that the FMIC/twinter looks to have done zero w/r to keeping IATs lower/reducing it creeping north during pulls.

Ok ill try logging with the AP. I have been leaving the jb4 on passthrough as to use it for my guages.

Does the ap have superior logging capabilities?

Can you relog with the ac off plz? As soon as it’s off give it 2-3 minutes then log. Or just don’t cut on the ac at all this time. Plz?
Ok yeah ill grab a log with the ac off later today when i get a chance. Does having the ac on affect iats??
