What is an "OEM king/peter"?

You mentioned MIB1 fender amp may need coding. Did you code per the instructions in the initial thread? I made it BOLD in all caps and stated IMPORTANT UPDATE.

"IMPORTANT UPDATE: Per this thread a MIB1 amplifier can be made to work with a MIB2 head unit. https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/showpost.php?p=806606&postcount=593 "

"Enabling sound on 2015 vehicles with MIB1 and Fender Audio:
In module 47 in VCDS
1. Plug in VCDS - choose Module 47
2. Choose CODING.
3. Change byte 0 to 0x12 (Probably you have 0x22)"

With OBD11 you go into long coding. I assume poster who posted meant "on 2015 vehicles with MIB2 and Fender Audio".
Hey thanks for the reply. I’ll be trying this again when I get back to the car friday. I am new to obd11, don’t have vcds so its a learning process not something I know really well. Appreciate the the instructions hope
It works out.

USB/Aux Connector and Harness: Replaced media input with USB/Aux so I could use Appleplay. I purchased 5G0035222E with harness off of Aliexpress for $65 shipped. It is now $80. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKRkvN3 Harness was considerably longer than required, but there is plenty of space to roll up excess behind cubby that holds USB/Aux inputs and it worked fine. I checked out using harness with MIB1 unit and changed bit 19 of headunit for use with USB, but no joy. If you need the USB outlet you will have to have MIB2 headunit.

Sorry, but no. As discussed in initial post the screen designed for MIB2 will not work with the MIB1. It is a different resolution, 800X480 pixel vice 400X240 pixel. You either need to upgrade your headunit to MIB2 or stick back in your 5.8" screen which is designed to work with MIB1.

what kind of prices does he charge if you don't mind ?
Not sure if pricing fluctuates due to his supply. I paid $1600 for the brain, 8” glass display, coded etc, black trim.

Got a hold of vcds. Looks like it can’t communicate with module 47. Everything works, just no sound or volume. Still thinking it could be amp issue.

Amp is 100% okay.
Over 20 members here are driving MIB2 with MIB1 amps installed.Fender and Dynaudio.
I personally coded those,no issues.

I had a radio issue prior to swap. Volume stays at zero. Dealer thought it was the module. Seems like amp is probably the issue.

Hi Guys. Thank you for this really helpfull thread here!

But now I need some help because I'm stuck with a issue.

I switched from MIB1 to MIB2.5 (hacked unit, car has Dynaudio). First I tried to use the MIB1 Amp, but that did not work. So I ordered a MIB2 Amp, installed it and went to a dealer and they removed the component protection. But unfortunately I still have no sound. If I try to change the volume it stays at 0. And if I try to go into the sound setting in the main menu it shows the following message: "The sound setting will be made available again at the end of the phone call or announcment or once you finished parking."

The coding of 5F: 027310010000000051111102008808101F0403F4012000009E
The coding of 47: 1200000000AAAA8A000000000000 (also tried with 22 on byte0 and the 8A as AA without success)

And here a log from my OBD11: https://pastebin.com/CP8pxxpU There are also the adapations listed.

Thank you! :)

Update. (Volume didnt work). Dealer stated my module was faulty which led me to looking into mib2 upgrade.
Installed new module on a glass 8 inch display which I’m really happy with. still no sound. Ended up being a faulty fender amp. Picked up a used one and now I have sound just need to get the dealer to unlock it so I have all speakers working.
If anyone purchases from peterdna on instagram he has been very helpful throughout the process.

hoping the dealer unlocks the amplifier at no charge because they misdiagnosed the problem in the first place. Not going to hold my breath though. They seemed more interesting in selling me a wheel straightening service for all four dented wheels which are actually fine and balance perfect.

Guys hope you can help me before I do something stupid.
I have MIB 2.5 with 9.2" screen (Finally arrived). It is a Hacked unit. And because it is a hacked unit i have few questions. The shop i bought it from said that i can do anything except upgrading the software. That makes sense. My questions are:

Unit have WLAN enabled can i connect the unit to the internet ?
Can i use the CAR-NET if it is a hacked unit ? I would really like the Google earth feature.

My understanding is the WLAN will work if your connected device is plugged in and allows hotspot. Waiting on my cable to find out for sure!

Lets see 9.2 screen.

Thanks for the reply. But i dont need any cable for the WLAN.
When i go to WLAN menu i can just search for a hotspot basically any wifi connection that the radio will connect to in order to have internet access.
Then you can access to the Car-net you should sign in create an account and you should have weather Google earth etc. But i am affraid if the internet will block the “hacked” unit or something.
What cable are you waiting for ?
