Golf R gearbox overheat issue

I had a gearbox overheat warning flash up twice so I’ve taken it to the garage for a full service and dsg oil replacement, they’ve also said the clutch is fine. What are the potential causes of this? I’ve had it flash up again today.

Oil temp is always between 90-100c even when the warning flashes.

Thanks in advance

How many miles has the car covered? If more than 40k, was the DSG serviced at 40k?

That's engine oil temp so doesn't tell you what the DSG oil is at.

Usually, your DSG oil is too low if you get a "overheat" warning. If you are tuned or you were launching a fair few times in succession, you could get it too. Overfilled DSG oil will cause clutch slippage. See if you get the warning again after the new oil (hopefully they fill it to the right level) and go from there.

Do a full DSG Reset. Packs may be fine, but are slipping and fluid is being burnt. Happened to me while getting a custom DSG tune.
