Just a heads up for anyone purchasing from E-Acca or any other overseas supplier. I purchased my set of 7.5 tail lights and they shipped via FedEx (ordered May 7, order shipped June 10). Apparently FedEx's hub in France is down 80% in staff (from what I was told by multiple CSRs) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so anything passing through will be stuck there for a while... My tail lights got to "ROISSY CHARLES DE GAULLE CEDEX FR" and has been there for now 10 day without any sign of moving any time soon. Not all packages go through that hub apparently, but if yours does, it may take a while... It's so painfully not seeing any movement hahaha...

My right dynamic tail light not working. It WAS working last night. It does blink standard style, just not dynamic.

The left tail light DOES blink dynamic style.

I ran the wiring for rear fog light using the Shopdap wiring harness and the facelift taillights (OEM).

I coded with the Shopdap App in OBDeleven. I am receiving in OBDeleven: Central Electronics Fault: Left brake lamp/turn signal bulb (open circuit/short circuit to B+)

I do NOT have the switch installed for the fog lights to make the rear fog work. Didn't know if I had to have that installed before coding for rear fog light?

I triple checked the wiring and made sure all the pins are seated correctly.

Car: 2017 VW GTI Sport.

Any help is appreciated!

Finished reading all 220 pages in this thread... what a journey these lights have been for many. I'm late to the party, but glad I read through everything, I know I learned a ton and probably saved a bunch of annoying questions... PM sent to ZERO815 for harness build... again, thanks to the trail blazers who figured all this stuff out the hard way.

Have a random question on light clusters. I found a nice used set from eBay in the UK, but prior to shipping, the seller noticed the cluster on the left hand side is missing the black plastic cover panel that goes over the top/side of the light. Easy answer is walk away, but the deal is good and the lights otherwise are in good shape (the specific panel on the lights in pics below). Question is, do you guys know if this panel is swappable from the US spec to Euro tails? Or even replaceable for that matter? I don't mind cannibalizing my US tails for the panel and/or keeping an eye out for a replacement as long as everything will go back together cleanly.

Thanks in advance!

I'm having a similar issue with the ShopDap harness, except I'm not sure if mine is coding-related or a wiring issue. I followed their install video and have the harness pinned to run a rear fog.
I finished the coding (or at least think I did) but my left reverse light is always on like a rear fog, and the rear fogs function as my reverse lights. I have a euro switch and the rear fog functionality does nothing.

Also, when I activate the left turn signal, both dynamic signals flash. When activating the right turn signal, nothing.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Update: Found that I coded the right turn signal to blinken links hellphase instead of blinken rechts hellphase. Dynamic signals work perfectly now.

Still struggling with the rear fog and reverse lights though. Now both rear fog lights are on when in reverse. The reverse light that was previously always on does not come on at all any longer. Does anyone have a paper copy of ShopDAP instructions that they can scan or take a pic of?

What is the current coding of Leuchte28 and Leuchte29?

Hey,
Doesn't look like your issue is in the coding. Light channel Leuchte28 is used as rear fog, light channel Leuchte29 as reverse. There are some things I would change to have both channels closer to the OEM coding but that shouldn't effect your fault.

2010GTI4me.jpg

Just as a test, please change the coding for:
- LichtfunktionA28 to "aktiv 100%" and report back what happens. My guess is the left reverse light is on all the time. Afterwards change it back to "Nebelschlusslicht ..."
- LichtfunktionA29 to "aktiv 100%" and report back what happens. My guess is both rear fog lights are on all the time. Afterwards change it back to "Rueckfahrlicht"

I'm glad I found this thread... was interested in picking up the dynamic LED tails for MK7.5 cars and everyone's contributions was really helpful!
