I completely agree with fun over speed. Many cars today have so little sensation of speed you have to go stupid fast for it to give you the sensation of speed/involvement.

There is some overlap in there. At one I owned and actively drove eight separate cars throughout the week. Now with kids we have only four: Tacoma, Mini, GTi, and the Alltrack

Another old one from a decade ago.
I factory-ordered that car exactly as I wanted it. Pepper White, no sunroof, body kit, and otherwise pretty loaded. The look was awesome - check out how the roof seems to float above the windows. Added 17" BBS LM's & H&R cup kit. Loved it - mostly. What was it lacking? Steering feel. ANY steering feel. It was like driving a motorboat. It's a crying shame that you can't get a Mini with a manual steering rack. Instead you just get a drastically over-boosted electric disaster. Probably better by now, but was totally numb back then.

Super clean mini. I'm looking for a clean MT 52/53 myself but can't seem to find any clean low mileage ones around me.

I've still got too many cars, but I sold the Infiniti G20T to make room for the Golf. Not my smartest move ever, but it went to the right person at the right price for them, so I guess it's okay.
It wasn't much to look at, and was my younger brother's college car, but damned if it wasn't driving nirvana.
That's about as mixed up as my own automotive history.

the automatic Sentra driving nirvana? Never driven one, just sounds surprising. Or did they make a manual?

That's impressive that you could remember all of that.
FWD SR20 homer here. The G20 chassis was based on the Nissan primera which is what they used in the btcc in the 90s so it is more capable from a handling standpoint than you think. Yes they made a manual. Also, most don’t realize that SR20 engines came in fwd stock in the US and not just 240sx chassis in Japan.
That being said, I’ve never driven one, only the B chassis cars lol. dosjockey was it a p10 or p11?

I guess you could call my 2019 GTI, 6-speed, my daily driver. I drive it about 2/3 of the time.
My other ride is a 2008 Corvette Z51, 6-speed, that I bought new. I absolutely love that car. I'll probably keep it indefinitely, unless I buy another Vette.
Anyway, my previous daily driver was a 2013 Accord Coupe V6, 6-speed (of course). I bought it new; but I never really liked it. The shifter was very slow and sloppy, and always felt out of sync with the clutch. It was very difficult to shift quickly. It would sometimes block me out of gear. By the time I traded it in for the GTI, I had grown to hate it.
The GTI is much more fun to drive. Although I'm still getting used to the turbo... My first one.
