Hey guys, so I just had some new 245/35/19 Michelin Pilot sport 4S tires installed and the tire shop said one of my Pretoria’s are bent pretty bad and two are slightly bent. Heard this is a common issue, but the previous owner had them sanded and repowdercoated. So thought they would be stronger lol...
I’m going to get these fixed, but I wanna get some Volks. Most likely 19x8.5 TE37’s in gunmetal. What offset should I get so I don’t rub? I have a mk7.5 R that is on H&R sport springs.

Are you lowered all the way down in the front & back? I've got Swift springs for the rear which are apparently better overall and give more adjustability than the track springs mss sells.

All the way down in the front, raised maybe 7mm from lowest in rear. I got a stiffer set of rear springs from MSS directly though.

They really dont go low enough in the front. Ah well. I'm not looking to slam anyway. Been there done that with my last gti.

I'd lift the back to match top gaps. Just something I like personally.

If you don’t have adjustable camber in the front I would go with a 19x8.5 ET 45 wheel. You could maybe get away with a few MM spacer in the front if you were able to dial in some camber but ET45 on a 8.5” wheel should be pretty much dead flush and shouldn’t rub, if it does the fender screw mod is very simple and should eliminate any rubbing.

Thanks! I’m start looking at some wheels now.
I was rubbing a little bit already when I got the Michelin’s put on. So I did the fender screw mod and it solved that issue . 👍🏼

Fits perfectly. No rubbing, no screw mod required even with the dcc set to comfort mode.

I'm really impressed with these wheels. 18.1lbs each, gorgeous finish and cheap enough to replace if anything were to go wrong.

To reiterate :

MSS sport/Swift adjustable springs, 034 dynamic+ camber mounts, superspeed rr03 18x8.5 +35 wheels, 245/40/18 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires.

Looks great! What is your FTG measurement? I'd guess 25.5" or so all around. That'd be a good point of reference for these posts as well.

It can't be understated how much front camber does for fitment. Before my 034 camber mounts were installed I was running a 18x9 ET45 and 235/40 Conti ECS combo and they were nearly flush, no rubbing at ~25.25" FTG. With the camber mounts I could run a 10mm spacer up front which would be 6mm out from where you are and still no rubbing. Considering the wider tire you run, that's probably about a wash.

Edit: It does look like the car lowered a bit more after the camber plate install. They were the same springs, ED Golf R specific springs. I know I was just above 25" FTG before those were swapped.

I believe I measured 28". Sounds wrong, but I'll check tonight.

Definitely too high there 4x4 :ROFLMAO: . I think stock is under 27", most lowering springs get you under 26", I'm not super familiar with MSS kits because there are so many damn spring variations, and they are adjustable.

Yeah, I'll verify when I can. Thus far I love the kit. Not really certain why they get so much hate. I mean, they're not true coilovers but are priced as such, maybe that's why. They're not for people who want to slam their cars but rather to retain proper stock strut travel/benefits of the dcc system and get more aggressive/tighter handling while being less than an inch lower.
