Here is my concern. I bought the car new with expectations to keep it until I die or can no longer drive it. I never anticipated an issue like this. However, being it does exist, and I have less than 25k on my 2016 GTI-S, and I do smell anti freeze from time to time, and it's super minimal if almost indistinguishable in the tank (any drop), what' to say they are not replacing with new, improved, upgraded, updated, corrected items so as it should not occur again from the same source or the same reasons after it is repaired to begin with? One might think and wish to research in detail with VW (I may) as to if this is a well know issue and it is being taken care of as it seems to be from what I read here, are they still using the very same replacement parts that are of the same production that is the cause of the defect or have the improved it? Additionally, if the parts in question have not been improved, has any 3rd part company manufactured the correct items so as the same issue do occur like the OEM parts, or is it all junk, prone to happen again, and I should consider dumping the car for the long term (disappointed). Generally a garaged highly maintained 2 dr. GTI-S that I thought would be my last car is now a worry. Also, from what I read hear there seems to be a lot of disassembly to get to the parts and does anyone have reservations or concerns that the factory certified and trained mechanics are competent enough to do a job as one might expect (as in perfect...everything)?
