Can you use the normal VCDS cable with this software?

Also, would enabling VIM invalidate the VW warranty?

No, in the package is a cable included.

VW doesn´t matter about. The change is only to set the SpeedLimit to 250km/h.
VCP-Pro is used by a lot of people in Europe.
You also can activate weariness detection (EM1).
And.. it is the only software which can coding the RLFS for rainclosing at the MQB series. VCDS is not able to do this.

at MK6 it is only RLS = Rain-Light-Sensor

I found this for VCDS:

6. Automatic rain closing
Go into [09] Central Electronics
Go into Secuity Access and enter 31347
Go to adaptation channels and set the following:
- (15) Access Control 2 - Regenschliessen_ein aus (Rain Closing on / off) - Select Active
- (16) Access Control 2 - Regenschliessen_art (Rain closing Type) set to Permanent
- (28) Access Control 2 - Menuesteuerung Regenschliessen (Menu Control Rain close) – Set to Active (enables the menu in the infotainment screen)

I've not tried VCDS on my car yet, is this what you are talking about on the rain thing?

How many people here have VCP Pro?
