Do some Euro GTIs come w 19" wheels stock? I remember Clarksons had those Santiagos and they looked like 19s to me. But it isn't a clubsport

And as an additional point, does this mean those come w bigger brakes/rotors? 19s on the base rotors don't look appealing to me

The GTI Clubsport S has been the only Golf coming with 19" wheels as standard.
Santiagos have been and currently are an option, as well as Brescias for the 7.5
GTI are. Even Rs and S3s only get 19" wheels when you pay the extra, which I
think is a good thing since I don't like running 19" wheels. :)

Euro GTI brakes are almost same as in NA:

GTI: 312 x 25 + 300 x 12 mm (while NA spec comes with smaller rears)
GTI PP: 340 x 30 + 310 x 22 mm (same as NA spec GTI PP and R)

No difference between pre-FL and FL models. ;)

$300+ each for a cast wheel that's just as heavy as the OE Austins? I'll pass. But thanks for the info. ;)

Imho $300/279 € isn't too much for one of the best looking OE wheels.
It'll certainly be stronger and have better quality painting compared to
cheaper reps.
Did someone measure the claimed 26.5 lbs? Many vendors state weight
including packaging and commonly it isn't particularly reliable. Even more
26.5 lbs is pretty normal for an 18" OE wheel. Some are heavier (Detroit).

Yeah but then it's not rly an upgrade. To each their own I guess, I just can't see the upside to buying brand new wheels that are stock spec yet offer no difference in feel or drivability. Especially if you have perfectly good stock wheels already. It's like having a brand new tv, then replacing it with the same tv. At least upgrade.

But hey, ppl can do what they want w their money. I guess they at least look better than the austins, but that's not hard.

We're not the majority. Why do people buy aftermarket wheels?
I'd assume 98 % do this for looks only.
That said, I'm running 7.6 kg (16.7 lbs) wheels - 18" factory ones
(which came with my Clubsport).

I called Volkswagen Zubehör on both weight and manufacture
of the 18" Pretorias.

- 25.3 lbs = 11,5 kg

- made by Ronal

Same manufacturer who also make Watkinunas and Austins etc.
and marginally lighter than what Vortex said.
Contrarily 19" Pretorias (and 17" Brooklyns) are made by Borbet.

So still heavy asf. The OE 19s that come on the R are much lighter, no?

Anyone know the official weight on those?
