Golf r turbo failure

Yes, remapping is a gamble.
I myself have a GTD with a map. 500 nm of torque & 220bhp. If you remap you don't have a warranty. It may be the remap & it may be a weak turbo.
Vw will claim its the remap.
Either way, I suggest contacting a turbo specialist. A hybrid turbo, would be my choice. Also contact APR as they may help or claim it's a weak turbo

Wondering this aswell. In the end it comes down to 1 thing, you gotta pay to play. As far as flashing back to stock, even if he did, VW corporate can still see it.

When did you bought the car? How many KM do you have on the odometer?Hi guys I have mk7 r with apr stage1. Just 3 weeks after my tuning the turbo failed.the dealer told me we have sent the data log to Germany and they found out that the car is tuned 10,000 km and this was the case

Pretty sure he has a 2014 R. I believe anyone in the US with an R has a revised turbo.

He bought the car 5 months ago, but we need to be sure on production date. The car might has been sitting in the dealer for 5 more months

I bought mine on March 27th. The day after it was delivered to the dealership. I'll have to check my production date. Isn't that with the VIN on the drivers door panel?
