Not a bad plan. Can't go wrong with a JB4, and like you said, it has resale value in case you decide to upgrade in the future.

Edit: Cobb also has resale value, but I can totally understand if you have warranty concerns.

Nearly 40k miles on Eurodyne. Zero issues. Car will probably blow up tomorrow now...

Keeping my warranty is key after reading all these posts regarding water pumps, DSG issues, and turbos failing under 40k. I feel like maybe I should've done more research on issues with GTI's before pulling the trigger.....not that my GTO was what I'd call reliable but at least I didn't have to replace the wp until 100k....

WP fails were an epidemic on mk6 GTI...not mk7.

Maybe it's not as prevalent but you can spend 5 minutes searching for MK7 water pump failures and find a lot of posts on multiple forums.

Anyone knows of VW techs that do work on the side? i have one lined up for my turbo install, but i've been getting a interesting, sorta "i'll let you know" vibe from him. don't wanna sit on this turbo for a month or 2.

I think the issue is if they have access to a lift or can use their own shop. There was a guy at Northland that seemed to have access.
