I am having a disastrous time trying to get this set up.

Has anyone come across any spot on YouTube videos or directions?

It would be much appreciated.

Also, can you use it on a iPad or just an iPhone?

yes. Expensive though it may be, step 1 is ALWAYS to acquire and use an Apple cable to evaluate the setup. If it doesn't work, you take that information to the dealer because now the problem is known to be in the car somewhere.

That's just how it is. There are plenty of other good cables on the market, but if you want to be 100% sure, use an Apple cable. Then you can move on to other cables and find ones that also work.

To confirm the phone must be wired via usb. Sorry if this obvious but there was someone on another forum that was thinking CarPlay would work via Bluetooth.

Mine is going back in the end of this week for issues related to the infotainment system. The car will see that the iphone is connected but it will not connect so that I can use it. It will randomly reboot when the spirits tell it to. When it comes back on it's on a different station and louder!
This is the only thing I truly hate about the car. It's such a first world problem but it pisses me off every other time I drive the car.:mad:

I’ve had the need to flip the orientation of the cable to get things working. Why???

If Siri is disabled on the phone, Car Play will not work.

You might have to go into your Carplay settings within your phone.

settings - general - carplay.

Maybe try "forgetting" your car then reconnecting?
