How to clean the window pillers!

I was wondering if someone can tell me what the window pillars are made of? Is it just plastic with a reflective coating on?

I can get the glass spotlessly clean, the bodywork polished and waxed, but can't work out how to get these looking good. The problem is that they are black and they are reflective and show every 'streak' if water / polish drys on them. Any ideas?

Here's an picture with the offending items ringed in yellow.
PS It's not my car

I was going to post this exact same question about a week ago. Put some scratches in mine trying to clean off bird crap. They seem easily scratched.

Have you tried waxing them?

I have some minor scratches as well, but have had good luck with Maguire's liquid wax. It hides it for around a month or so, then it needs a new coat.

You have to be super careful polishing them. I use a foam pad, blow it out with air often and use megs 205. Then I apply a clear bra
