Sorry yes, we moved a lot of the updates to different posts.

Car has run multiple 10 sec 1/4 passes, made 532WHP on our Dynojet. Has run a best 0f 7.88 60-130 times. About to pass the 4000 mile mark since the test sample was installed. Still going strong!

super pumped on this turbo. was going to do an is38 on a stock mk7 GTI with nothing more than a JB4 (because warranty) but considering going with this instead so may have some good data on spool, power etc that will also be applicable to the s3/GolfR guys since I'll be literally only running this turbo as my only hardware mod and on pump gas most likely. goal would be like 330-340whp or so but not picky.

Ahh is38 on a gti and you think you'd keep warranty?

I know my local VW dealer guys well, and not technically but anything short of a blown motor they wouldn't notice the slightly different stamping back on the turbo at the dealer I use. and if I somehow blew my motor I'd just put the is20 back on there in my garage before towing to the dealer (unlikely)

Not much you could do once tuned these days unless there's a service bulletin on something common. On my mk6 R I had a hpfp, intake cam and eventually whole motor replaced under warranty all with visible mods like IE intake manifold, loud exhaust, etc.. Ever since dieselgate that cost VW billions, things have changed and VWoA will send someone to thoroughly inspect your car before major warranty work.

Jb4 can run this turbo at my power level and is easily removed. If I have to swap the turbo back to stock for blown motor I can do that in an afternoon. Rest of car stock

Sorry but a real mechanic will know if it's been tampered with. You can usually tell when something has been removed & reinstalled. Partially rounded bolts, hoses rerouted... Whatnot. Plus if it blows your ecu will show perimeters out of whack, unless you can remove JB4 and drive for 50 miles. People think they're sneaky but dealerships/vw specialist aren't dumb![emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Have you ever heard of someone being denied due to the conditions you stated above?

To this date I don't think anyone has blown a motor on a JB4 with an aftermarket turbo, not that I have heard of anyways. Most people end up doing an ECU tune at some point so rounded bolts and re-routed hoses are non starters.

Quick update, we have seen the new castings with the changes we made after we were not happy with the first. So far these looks great. Moving forward, just a little slower than hoped. Stay tuned guys!
