Can anyone share some fun roads to take a GTI on within a few hours of Denver? Are some roads better with less other drivers, less bikers, less patrols, etc.?

Just got a GTI and looking forward to throwing it around the mountains.

Congrats on the new ride.

So, so many roads to enjoy up in them there hills...

North of I-70…
Peak-to-Peak Hwy
Golden Gate Canyon Rd
Coal Creek Canyon Road
Lefthand Canyon Dr
S. St. Vrain Dr
N. St. Vrain Dr (Hwy-36)
Big Thompson Canyon Drive (Hwy-34)

South of I-70…
Take I-70 West to Idaho Springs and head South on Hwy-103
Near Echo Lake, take Mt Evans Rd up to the top of Mount Evans
Then return back to Hwy-103 and head East (via Squaw Pass Rd) to Hwy-74
Head South into Evergreen and continue on to Morrison, via Bear Creek Rd.
Also,
Take Hwy-285 SW to Jefferson, turn SE on Hwy-77 to Hwy-24 to Woodland Park
Turn North on Hwy-67 to Deckers to Hwy-126 and back onto Hwy-285 at Silver Springs
On the return drive be sure to jump on S Turkey Creek Rd

A fun drive…
From Golden, take Hwy-6 West to Hwy-119 to Black Hawk
Then
Take Hwy-119 North up the Peak-to-Peak Hwy
You can take that all the way up to Estes Park
Or
Just take it a few miles to Hwy-46 (aka: Golden Gate Canyon Rd) East back to Golden
Then
Take Hwy-93 North to Hwy-72 (aka: Coal Creek Canyon Road) and go West
This will take you up to the Peak-to-Peak Hwy
Head North to Nederland
Jump on Hwy-119 East to Boulder
From Boulder head North on Hwy-36/7 to Lefthand Canyon Drive to Ward, where you get back on the Peak-to-Peak Hwy and head North
Turn East where Hwy-72 turns into Hwy-7 and drive down S. St. Vrain Dr to Lyons

What a great list - thanks for sharing. I've driven quite a few of those routes before (passing through in my old Sonata) but it'll be an entirely different experience to look forward to now.

Where's your typical starting point in Denver? North? South?
RMGTI put up a great starter list; I have some to add as well depending on where you want to start and end up.

I start in SW Denver - so close access to 285 and 70.
But if there are holy grail runs out there, would be great to make a trip of it.
