Parking Lights as DRL, OR DRL hack? mk7R

Hi all,

Been searching for the last few days, but not getting anything really, so sorry if I'm re-posting an old thread here.

I just got myself a 2014 mk7 golf R, and want to make both U's in the lights stay on.

Currently they only come on when:
- light switch set to auto and all light come on at night
- light switch set to parking lights
- light switch set to low beam

Clearly don't have DRLs, but want to know if there is a way to have the parking lights stay on? Has anyone something like this before?

Or is there an alternative hack I could do, other than buying a new cluster that is.

Dusty: Do you own a diagnostic cable - like VCDS or OBDeleven? If so then what are the settings for Leuchte2SL VLB10 on your car?

I have OBDeleven, haven't done anything advance on it yet (Only used the apps).

Ill see if I can find the setting and report back.

Dusty: If you look at the first picture, you will see that Lichtfunkion A2 has the setting Tagfahrlicht. This is the DRL leuchte command. The Dimmwert AB2 setting is 100 which means maximum illumination. These two channels suggest that you have DRL is programmed to operate.

Have you implemented the DRL off in the MENU tweak?

Dusty: then have a look in the MENU under lights -see if there is anything there about enabling DRLs

I dont have DRL setting under lights, and everything under lights are enabled.
Had a look at the DRl setting in OBD11, (see attached)

I enabled the both "Tagfahrlicht bur in Schalterstellung AUTO" and "Werkseinstellung fuer Tagfahrlicht Freischaltung BAP / Bedienfilge" but that didn't help. (the latter was enabled after i took the below screenshot)

Perfect, Thanks Don, that worked great.

The only other thing I added was to make the lights only show only on Auto (Active on the last option) as the main light was always on, yet the DRL was off.
Either way, it is now working perfectly.

Me? When i have my mk7 R on parking lights, only the left side drl lights up. I would like both drls lit up when on parking lights function. I have OBDeleven
