Pair of Ed's/BEC Autoparts Mk7 Golf R headlights for sale, great condition.

Still have original packaging.

These are the RHD version so ideally for the UK market. These are the R style lights so have the Double - U style DRL's

They are for cars which had OEM halogen lights from factory.

Have been on car about 6 months now and I think they look great, but I'm selling car, hence sale of lights.

All you need to do is install headlights and dipped beam bulb and away you go.

Any questions answered.

Also have OEM SE Fog lights for sale with trim pieces, feel free to contact me about these too.

Thanks,
Oli

Interested in these but not getting car for a couple of weeks so will, have to see how the pennies are then, but, out of interest how did you get on with them, were they easy to fit, any error codes, and what bulbs did you use in them? When driving the car did you feel they worked better than the stock halogens? Did you need to get the beam adjusted etc

What did you need to do to fit them?

I know a lot can be found on this site about them, but some first hand info from someone in the uk that has used them is extremely useful to help me make my decision.

Thanks in advance.

james_19742000,

Yeh no problem, ask away.

Fitting is super easy, all it requires is to lift the bonnet, remove front grill and front bumper, OEM lights held in with 3/4 bolts, lift them out, remembering to unplug, then put bulbs in new headlights, plug in, re do bolts and you're off. Honestly so easy. Removing bumper is a matter of removing around 15 screws and the bumper just unclips, couldnt be easier.

I love these lights, I really think they make the car look completely different and bring it to a new level. I had a lot of people commenting on the lights, especially the double U DRL's, as you dont see them very often. Really made the golf stand out against other "non-performance" golfs.

Bulb wise, I had 3 different sets fitted at different times, firstly phillips blue visions, which were fine, but still a bit yellow for me, then bought a set of LED H7's which were a lovely crisp white, but were a bit dim, so then opted for set of HIDs (xenons) they gave off great light and were far brighter than halogens.

I did install an auto light switch which did throw up an error when in auto mode, so i basically just ended up using it on dipped beam all the time.

I think the xenons are the way to go, brightest and whitest and don't bring up any errors. I just bought a H7 6000K kit from a local autoshop, but I read that Morimoto HIDs are the best in the aftermarket business.

Yes, I had to adjust headlights when i fitted them, did this about 3 times before i got it right, but thats because I was doing it against a garage wall, I probably should have just gone and got a local garage to do it, but I suppose I enjoyed the challenge.

Any more questions let me know.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Olly, so an idiot like me could fit them then!!!!

Ok, well I'm getting the car March 1st and my only gripe is the crappy headlights on it, the only ones with xenons left at VW had lots of other options so bumped the cost up to silly levels!

Let me have a think and let you know
