Can we make airholes in the Gti Sport fog light area plastic grill?

Where the fog lights are there is this plastic honeycomb thing in place, and im wondering if it would be beneficial to make the plastic grates actually cut outs for air to pass through into the wheel arches?

Would it need to be small openings, or mesh backed to prevent debris from going in? And would it even help keep brakes cool, or would the aero/lift actually get worse d'you think? Seems the flat plastic may actually increase the CD or drag?

Just wondering.

I wouldn't bother. You could also just buy the dog grilled if need be. But the air flow will hit the splash guards.

I'm pretty sure the clubsport has ducts there

But does it have different fender liners or duct work so that the airflow can hit the brakes?

New German Pacific.

R has intercooler and oil coolers in these locations.
Look up "New German Pacific MK7 build".
They made a ground up race car that used this location to add coolers.
They looked nice. Search You tube they made videos and I think also have a build thread on this forum. Many good pictures.
The amazing thing is they restored car to stock and sold.
Worth finding unless I find a link.

I also like wheels but in silver. Roof logo is nice. Surprised we do not see others.
