Any luck with GTI -> R lease trade?

I'm not loving my DSG GTI, would like to get into a 6MT Limestone R. Has anyone had luck with early lease trade in? I'd be willing to pay sticker on the R if my GTI is taken without penalties.

I'm not sure what you mean here

You're gonna be upside down on the trade-in and take a loss on the GTI, unless you put a massive down payment on it when you bought it, there's no way around it

Say you paid $25k for it...it's probably worth $18k-20k on trade-in (maybe)....so you're "out" $5k-7k and would have to roll that into the Golf R payment

This ^ they won't eat your negative esp for an R. They sell for full sticker so there's no room to cover that negative equity
