Just wanted more air flow coming into car helps with cooler air coming in you know that kind of stuff no power gains

Looks like it's resting on my shoes I think stepping on it would not be good thing I wouldn't recommend it.

When you take that piece out on the right hand side of it it is blocked off
The air only comes from the left side of it
You have to cut that piece out on the right hand side very simple
Didn't like how air was being brought in
from other side of makes more sense like this now

I get your logic, but I wonder if there is some method to the madness of those crazy German engineers. For example, to block water / snow / sand / dust from having a free path into the engine bay.

Ya I thought about that to with all the rain we have here but that very heavy rain we had here other day I was out in it when I got home lifted the hood and not a drop in there

Why do people do this? The stock filter does the job and it's intake is not directly behind the radiator that blows hot air

I did this because I'm not running a stock air box and filter as you can see in pic
What you don't see is I've blocked the air from coming in on the left side
Air now comes through on the right
IMO I'd rather ram the air straight in my CAI than have it the other way
And now the way it's set up is the vent on the left is for just air coming in car to help keep cool and vent on right is just for CAI

Did this for a more direct flow of air into the Intake
As for going through all this work,it only took 5 min
