JB4 Logging, stacking and Map 6 Discussion

First time posting in here. This is what I got so far. GTI IS38 + e27. No meth/IC, just freezing temps. I'll need meth/better gas/IC to run these in the summer.

Default settings on all logs
Duty Bias 0
Fuel 100

That's a lot of boost for those temps. I think that's why your trims and AFR are that high. Gonna melt a hole in a piston with that AFR....
Good thing I only really get on that hard when doing a log.
It was looking good to about 5,500 rpms.
I knocked it down 1-2 PSI from 3,000 up.
No chance to log it after the changes.

You're ok. AFR is nice and rich. If you want to play it safe turn down the boost where it starts hitting 49.

I'm thinking the below to hit 25. Should I be comparing additive and absolute similarly?

1500 - 16
2000 - 17.5
2500 - 19
3000 - 20
3500 - 22
4000 - 24
4500 - 25
5000 - 23
5500 - 20
6000 - 18.5
6500 - 17.5

Hi all! Thought I'd share my log here and see what we can do about getting a good map 6! Very happy with the power overall in my R when boost hits, but the turbo lag is noticeable. Hoping we can fix that maybe! Let me know what you think. This is map 2 I believe. 93 octane. No other mods.

You can run either. Some cars prefer one better or some people feel like one is faster with the same boost.

You are currently pushing 18psi at 5500 where you were targeting 19. Targeting 20 isn't going the right direction. Target 17psi at 5500. Turn the boost down when it's cold or stick with additive.

So it seems I get a fairly sharp drop in timing around 5500, looked at several other logs as well to compare. Any advice on what can be done to minimize this?

Yeah, that's your shitty gas at work. I see just the one log. Does it always dip? If not then don't sweat it. If you want to try and lower boost to get timing to level back off you can. Decide which feels better to the buttdyno and stick with that.

From what I've gathered, 20-21psi is the limit for 6k+ due to turbo being out of it's efficiency range. Any other upper limits I should avoid hitting?

Depends on how big your balls are. Personally, I'd avoid going full bore at that altitude. Your "Latest - more lower and higher" looks right about where I'd leave it if it were my car. I bet it hauls ass on that profile.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue with the Auto Clear CEL function Future Use D set to 90. Ever since I updated my jb4 firmware it doesn't work anymore as the CEL stays on and doesn't get autocleared and go away. I wanted to know if anyone else has run into this issue and if there is a solution or I'm just the only oddball out lol

Yep Diggs covered it but at your altitude it'll probably be a little much. Remember as IATs decrease, your density goes up so the turbo will run out if steam at lower boost. There is no one size fits all and you'll have to log and log and log and see what works for your car :)

Added 2 other logs before adding the downpipe.

I'll probably try logging again just to eliminate that run being off, the other 2 logs don't have the dip and look alright in comparison.
