Yea good eye. At the time of the photo I hadn't added the 5th to each wheel. The stock "security" bolt didn't fit on new wheels. Since, I have added 5th stock size bolt to each wheel. Cheers

I'm not much of a fan of aftermarket add ons but your additions do improve the look of the car quite dramatically.

These pictures answered all my questions about what rims to buy. Have been drooling over the Ispiri ISR1 (matt graphite) rims for a while now, wich looks almost the same as your VMR:s. My thinking is over. These looks great! Have you considered som lowering?

Thanks mates, I appreciate your comments!

It was a gamble, as I have never strayed away from aftermarket modifications before on new cars.

I have considered lowering? How much is too much? I think the Golf has excellent handling as it is, will lowering impact it negatively?

Cheers

Well, what is too much is a matter of taste of course. I think if you get a even space all the way around the wheel arch it looks the best. But that's me.
Lowering the car will further improve the handling of your car but will reduce the comfort.
I have the so called Sport Chassie on my GT. It lowers the car about 15mm from standard but is still a comfy ride. In my oppinion it's not low enough but I will stick to it for now. I don't want to ruin the comfort to much because it's the familys daily drive.

Damage to wheel, guess who

IMG_2308.JPG

Wife accidentally mis judged curb. I have a wheel guy who says they can buff out, Wheel Dr, charges $90 and claims they sand buff and match paint and clear coat finish.

For that money I would let them do it :). The wheel type you have is a good one to repair in the way they suggest. They cold easy grind down scratches on the rim, on the edge.

Much worse when the wheel is polished with just clear coat….type GTI 18” Detriots mk6. Bought one as spare part for about $850 after curbing…

Later I sent the curbed one to the “Wheelfixers” SE and paid $ 180 for 70% surface grinding + clear coat, nearly as good as new. Good to have one extra “in stock”.

I hear you TheSwede, it is bound to happen isn't it? Thanks for the re-assurance on the wheel repair.

Yea it is nice to have that spare you are speaking of, I may consider that. But alas, it is just a "grocery go getter" vehicle. :)

Roof Box

Added the 340 litre roof box from Volkswagen. Black in color, hopefully will match the tint that will be added to the windows shortly.
