I had my suction pump recall "fixed" too, but then within 3 weeks after driving it I was smelling gasoline again! I called the dealership and VW about this and they didn't seem to be concerned about the issue since they had already "fixed" it. I was also having a long standing issue with a tire sensor they will unwilling to replace, which had gone bad. Car was obviously under warranty. I decided to trade it in for a larger, family friendly vehicle. I was very sad to see my GTI go, but the headaches from an unreliable car, which I commuted in 800 miles a month was too much.
