OP is in Puerto Rico. I'm willing to bet Washers are not required in PR by law
here in the states is not a law to have washers, not sure about Canada

but if you want to retrofit them you will need a new bumper cover with the washers cutout

Washers are not law in PR. :p

There is a guy in Brazil who has done this retrofit. He bought the OEM headlights, all the control units and created a harness to convert from the 10-pin to the 12-pin. He also had to do some VCDS coding. I reached out to him, to see if he can help you. I'm also interested in the procedure to do this.

Would be great!

I'd honestly like to say that EDS are extremely close to OEM as it can get. I've had mine for 1 1/2 years with no fade, no HID issues and no warning lights. Not to mention double "U" LED lighting is awesome looking.

I have had mine for a year and a half too. Got the black Friday deal back in 2014. In the time I have had mine they have performed great and look oem. One thing they don't do that the stock lights have been reported to do, is fog. Never had that situation ever and I have driven my car through rainstorms and live in a high humidity locale.

I just traded my 2015 gti autobahn for a 2016 pp autobahn which once again had all of the typical bells and whistles of my 2015 but again no LP option. Needless to say I de-modded my 2015 & have eds lights ready to reinstall in the 2016.

One thing I have experienced periodically is the low beam error alarm if I leave the lights in auto. This time I am going to buy a set of the hid resistor harnesses from the retrofit source and I should be golden. Overall my level of satisfaction with the quality and performance of eds lights has been excellent.

Is there any more insight into this? Looks like Kafutec sells an adapter harness. Is that all you need besides the Lights and sensor? I have Ed's Egolf reps currently but would like to equip the actual headlights for looks and function. (I didn't buy HIDs from ed, just halogen). I don't really need AFS just the bi-xenons honestly. But if AFS is just as easy to retroit, why not!

The main issue is the BCM. My 2015 GTI S does not have the option for adding xenon range or afs. However, I was doing some coding in a friend's 2015 gti se w/o LP amd found that his car can actually activate those features. He has a different version of bcm tho. My guess is due to the rain sensor and auto lighting that needs a higher line bcm in order to work. Anyone cam confirm with a SE w/o LP if that option is available in the longcode of central electronics?

I would be very interested in this because I know someone getting ready to do the VW Buy Back and is willing to swap out of few things on his TDI SEL to my GTI SE. So I am curious, my 2015 GTI SE does not have the LP but could I swap my stock Halogens for his LP and vise versa...?

Wondering what else I could swap with him that looks nicer but performs the same. Any ideas....like rims, grill, LP etc?
