It's a standalone platform or are they doing something like Cobb pro tuning?

034 Motorsports sells their own tune, but they said they also do Unitronic tunes as well.

Unitronic also states 034 as an official service location for those interested in Unitronic's tunes, via their website.

Capitol VW didn't say anything really about my mods. Be wary of Stevens creek, there is a reason they average a 2/5 on Yelp. Lol. They completely screwed over Jason Hauns of JPH suspension (the guy that does my racebike) with his wife's car... broke it and refused to properly repair it ...

Sorry to bump an old thread but is Stevens Creek VW the only mod friendly dealer still?

Also, in terms of VW specialists in the bay, is it still the following:

Tomas Sport Tuning, Berkeley - GIAC
Precision Motorworks, Santa Clara - APR
034Motorsport, Fremont - APR
ESP Motorsports, Santa Clara - tunes?
Bay Area Motorworks, Campbell - tunes?
Performance Autowerk, Dublin - tunes?

Precision motor works did my APR tune. Seems like a high quality shop but they absolutely buttrape you on labor so I'd stay away unless you have deep pockets.

All the APR dealers around the south bay charge about the same for tune labor. Sprint Autoworks use to cut me a little bit of a deal for APR tune labor since I got my car originally tuned there but now they charge the same as others. It sucks that APR doesn't have an at home tuning solution available.

In their defense they did give me 10 or 15% off labor for military discount. $80 to plug in every time no matter what is ridiculous.

One of the reasons why I have yet to come in to VW dealer to have an intermittent error message regarding the shifter mechanism looked at. I'm both ecu and tcu tuned so it'd cost me $320 to remove and reinstall tunes after visiting the dealer.

If they charged you the $80 and then would let you swap to stock or go to stage II etc without another labor charge then cool it's worth it. $80 each time to install, go stock, install again = $240. $240 for like 30 minutes (if that, the bulk of the time is the tool installing the software, only takes a couple minutes of the tech's time) of work. What a joke....
