Went out and did my first few logs so that I can go to map6, currently have 3" catless dp as well as intake + inlet pipe, 94 octane and rs7 plugs. Only peaking at a little over 14psi, assuming there's a lot more room to play with seeing as some of you guys are running close to 18psi?

Ironshade hit the dyno. 288 whp in 3rd and then hit the speed limiter in 4th on his way to over 300 whp. He hit 357wtq in 4th. Great job for an IS20 and JB4 as the only tune. On the same day an APR stage 2 gti put down 293 whp and 348 wtq and a stage 2 R did 321whp/338wtq in fwd mode. Looks like the JB4 1.8 is king!

What are the other mods and settings for his 1.8T? Thats amazing!

My car is pretty much bone stock other than a K&N drop-in and I'm able to hit nearly 16psi in 90+ degree weather but only briefly. Generally my car hits 14.2-15.1 at peak spool ~3000-4500

Hi, here is my take. I'm sure others will chime in.

  • Timing is advancing (ign_1) nicely as RPM goes up to 15 degrees.
  • Only a tad of timing pull on cylinder 3 (<=1 degrees), nothing to be concerned about.
  • Your AFR climbs higher starting at around 5680 RPM at the end of the pull. It goes into the 14's and stays there. This is under the taper though, so likely not an issue, especially since timing was still increasing nicely.

I would try using an absolute map 6 and log to see how it works for you. Here is a previous IS12 map 6 I was using targeting 16 PSI (I didn't have a downpipe at the time). You might be able to go higher, but I would start here and log to see how it runs for you.

Fuel Open Loop - stay at 60
Boost Safety - drop to 20 (from the current 24 PSI)
Fuel Bias (100 across all RPM).

Boost by RPM for map 6
1500 - 11.0
2000 - 12.5
2500 - 13.0
3000 - 14.0
3500 - 16.0
4000 - 16.0
4500 - 16.0
5000 - 15.5
5500 - 15.0
6000 - 14.0
6500 - 13.0
7000 - 12.0

You can try these as well. I was using them and have actually gone up a tad. Trying to find the ideal 93 octane setting for the summer. This should work well with 94 and a downpipe
1,500-12
2,000-14
2,500-15
3,000-16.6
3,500-17.8
4,000-18.4
4,500-17.8
5,000-16.8
5,500-15.8
6,000-15.0
6,500-14.5
7,000-13.5

Btw I still run FOL 75 I have maybe 100+ pulls and 4k miles on this setting so far soo good.. I run a higher then necessary FOL to give the car that extea bit of fuel to correct under conditions and keep afrs where they need to be. Using a higher FOL ~22-20 psi seems to be verrrrrryyyy consistent and logs looks better then they have ever been.

I just bought a sweet looking paperweight:

a low mileage rev G from a 2016 with wg, dv, inlet included.

Once I get my damn transmission leak fixed under warranty I can actually use the thing!

Nice!! I'm really going to have to go this route sooner or later. Have other priorities first though

Low mile? Looks like zero mile. It looks almost new! Let us know when you install it.

Question... Can't you monitor AFR thru the OBD-2 port? If so, can't Burger connect to it there, eliminating the use of the O2 tap?

How would the fuel biases be if you are on a blend lets say e30?

Im also a bit confused with the fuel open loop that is just to keep AFR in check?

Boost safety so it doesn't hit 24 pounds and only hits 20 pounds?

I keep my fuel biases at 100 as most do. If you lower this, it will lower AFR (lean out) at those RPM. I would discuss with George if you want to deviate. Ethanol blends will typically run leaner, so I would not decrease them in that case.

FOL is used to increase fuel rail pressure to keep up with the increased fuel demand under boost. The higher the number, the higher the rail pressue the JB4 tries to run. The increased pressure helps the injectors to deliver more fuel under the added boost from stock. The JB4 will automatically increase the fuel pressure as the boost increases. Boost targets at a particular instant are calculated by pedal position and the boost PSI at that given RPM.

Yes, Boost Safety is the max boost the JB4 will allow. It should be set just a few PSI above your max target boost.

Has anyone tuned there 60-100 or have a video of it. There is a thread with it on Facebook and wanted to what guys are getting here. So far Ironshade is the champ with right around 6 seconds. I did one on just 93 and was a little over 7
