New Design Item, we'll new to me.

I have noticed a new flap being designed into wheel wells on some new cars. I noticed it on a new Audi, can not remember the model. I also noticed in on a Toyota C-HR.
This flap on the Audi was on the front and rear of the car.
It looks like a small mud flap meant to protect paint or body.
Anyone else noticed or know purpose?
Look towards top of wheel in picture?
I want in CF!

I think you're right.

I think you'd be astounded at the efforts being put toward aerodynamics, and surprised to hear about that being an aerodynamic piece.

Toyota: look at the tops of the side mirrors. Those aren't for decoration.
