Little help on bulbs (confused)

Sorry and hey guys, new member

We just upgraded my wife's golf to a MK 7, it's a TSI 1.4
Loving the car but the headlights are absolutely awful, (we've always had factory hids) didn't think it would be too much of a problem but damn..

It's a 2015 so it doesn't have DRLS, can anyone recommend anything, I'm presuming side lights are 501s and H7's for main but am I missing anything?

Also the degenerate in me wants to upgrade the puddle lights under the mirror just because... anyone ever attempted or is it a sealed unit

I'll be pestering you guys a lot next few months

As for bulbs a decent set of phillips or osram. (powerbulbs uk website??)..& stay of the 6000K blue stuff as the May this year new MOT regs are looking a "colour"..so you will get done...

Is it just the two bulbs in the headlight, sides and main?
There's some kind of 'drl' as there's always a yellow bulb on even when he headlights are set to 0

Yep, just the two bulbs in the headlight. Outers are the low (h7), inners are the DRL/parking light and high beam (h15)

Your H15 should operate as DRLs but we guess it is a feature they removed in that trim?

H7 is the low beam - you need adapters to hold bulb/send power to the kit - our H7RC HID kit includes the custom adapters:

H15 is the High Beam / DRL - we have bright plug and play error free LEDs that are brighter than the xenon model:
