Virtual cockpit - no "classic view"??

So all VWs that have virtual cockpit appear to have a "classic view" where gauges look like analog gauges, with no extra data. Except R.

For the love of god please tell me why VW decided to do this.

Why can't I have a clean look without all the BS? F@$% you Volkswagen

I have an 18 R and I got to admit I'm a little old school and the gauges on my 17 were very sexy. Having said that, I have owned my 18 for almost 3 months and the virtual cockpit is growing on me. We can't stop technology so I am happy to just move along with the new changes ...

Is it a different part number?

If it's just software maybe you can enable that view with VCDS/OBD11.

You can change it in VCDS
In instruments, change 'depiction'

It will, however, remove the 'R' at the bottom of the screen, and it will also change the Speedometer from 200mph to only 160mph.

Honestly, I've grown extremely fond of the digital dash. I came from a 2015 Mercedes and this is much nicer.

How many options are there in depiction?
