Have you tried clearing the Bluetooth data? Someone on this site had an issue with phone calls, but maybe it would work for streaming audio as well.

Tried all the tricks, no noticeable changes.

Bluetooth audio sounds like ass anyways, and shouldn't be used when USB & SD card are also available.
Completely agree, plenty of other ways to listen to audio. You basically have a full android table in front of you.

I sort of hacked the settings app and made separate apps for modes so you don't need to go through the menu to select the mode. I keep those in a side-bar to change the mode.

It will simply open the settings app and change the mode then close.

Download them here:

That’s great! However I’m getting a Parse Error when I attempt to install.
“There was a problem parsing the package.”

Any idea why?

I did those with a debug signature so perhaps you need to root the head unit.

Hmm, I am rooted. I’ll mess around a bit.

On another note, I noticed it is actually the start/stop engine button that can bring the mode menu up (once the radio is booted up) The ‘engineer’ requested a video showing this. So I’m hoping they mis-mapped the buttons and will correct it.

That is strange. I have a thread somewhere on the forum in which I show how I kept the oem infotainment head unit and connected it together with the Android unit so I could use the mode button. Check it out if you're up for some wire splicing work.

Otherwise if the apps I uploaded didn't work then you can send me your car settings app as they may have changed it in newer units. I could then patch that one.

Thanks hal, I'll take a look. I'm hoping that the engineering group at Dasaita can fix this. Not the quickest support but they've been great about getting back to me.

I'm always up for splicing fun!

Just like tablets or phones, you can Root the radio and install anything you want. I'm running a custom ROM right now that allows for lots of tweaking, including different launchers. Here is the ROM for this specific type of radio

I have a rooted Nexus 9 installed in the dash of my truck (picture below). It's wonderful. I designed the interface and it works very well. If I were to get something like this it would be a hell of a lot easier to put in since it bolts right in.

One thing that I don't think I understand still is how it works with the vehicle features that were originally embedded in the OEM stereo work on this android unit. Can you elaborate on that and or post pictures of how it works? And if you don't mind me asking, how much did this unit cost? I didn't see a price on the original link.

That display is awesome, great work!!!

The car interaction is done by a second PCB known as the MTC(D) and a CANBUS module connected to it. This board controls the audio, video and communication. So even when the Android OS isn't loaded or even powered on, the backup camera will still display.

I paid $400 for this.

AM/FM reception fixed!!! I found that the power antenna wire was not connected properly so it wasn’t getting amplified at all. Reception is now the same as it was with the stock radio.

Here is the bad connection, the spade slipped to the side and isn’t centered, which doesn’t work.
