I'm fairly certain it's the same shape as well. If it's different, it's so minor that it might be made to work somehow (or possibly work with new fenders?).

That's what I thought as well. if you look at the new lights, they have a bit of unused empty space in the bottom and I think that's because they retained the same shape as the pre-facelift headlights... time will show though. if they are as good as on the Passat and Tiguan and fits bolt on I will attempt to retrofit them.
