Audi aluminum subframe on Mk7 Gti

Isn't this a bit ridiculous?

Well, when we'd talk about nice wheels, lowering springs, exhaust systems
and so on, things that are nice but "not necessary" or "needed", THEN it'd
be legit to say what you said.

But are we talking about that stuff? I was asking if boring brass bushes are
necessary (or needed). I'd think that's another kind of story. You don't see
them, they're just to fix an issue. If you don't have this issue, again, I'll ask
why do you think you need them?

Is it really so hard to understand?

Ask Tyrolsport, they'll tell you why they made them. Their marketing material must have made OP believe he needed/wanted them. That's not hard to understand, right?

What's your goal here? Talk people out of spending their money how they see fit? Hope to see you in future Pedal Box, street driven BBK, $5k forged wheel, etc. threads. [emoji19]

Oh I wasn't being critical of the word, I just think it's funny when people ask if you need a mod, or if it's necessary. The answer is if you have the money and it makes you happy then yep, you need it and it's necessary haha

Did not see it that way in the least, simply thought I should word my reply to what he asked.

You asked me a question, I gave you an answer. Is it really so hard to understand? Why don't you tell me what you want to hear then? lol

You asked if those boring, brass bushes are "necessary", and I said for me no, but since I have discretionary money I bought them. I am not engineer who can give you the technical, legit answer you seem to be seeking. But hey direct to me to the guidelines on legit answers, I will be sure to read up on them for next time.

But really can we just get a "whoop whoop" for working hard to be able to buy stupid car parts? In a thread about replacing a boring subframe you don't even see, to solve a problem you don't have? ??

Ask Tyrolsport, they'll tell you why they made them.
I'm not interested in Tyrol's comments, but on a forum member's
opinion and reasoning since I simply wanted to know why.

What's your goal here?
If you were able to read, you would know that. What's wrong with
asking if Blade has subframe shifting issues after he said he'll get
brass bushings which obviously only help if he has a shifting issue
and do absolutely nothing when you don't have that issue? These
bushes cannot do more than stop shifting, no matter what Tyrol
says.
Not the question is wrong but the replies. What's your goal btw.?
This conversion has been quite nice until you made silly comments.

So since I'm fully capable of reading (A+ dig there), I see your question had/has been answered. Hopefully to your satisfaction.

I've clearly rubbed you the wrong way, but you seem beyond righteous in the posts that I've seen here, and apparently you don't like anyone questioning you in that. My goal was not specifically to rile you up, but just to question why you have to question others to the extent you do. I think I have my answer! Carry on.

Blade didn't answer at all yet. ;)
So please forgive me, but I even more need to question your reading abilities.

Since a lot of you guys are doing Lower control arms with this mod does anyone mind sharing what wheel/tire dimensions they are running ?

I did the subframe after I did the control arms. The front end feels a bit stiffer (not as much flex) since I changed to the aluminum subframe.

Wheels are 17x8 et45 with 245/40 Mich PSS. I can run a 5mm spacer in the back. Front however, I cannot run a spacer. It rubs pretty badly on hard compression if I do. I'm lowered about the same as the VWR springs that I had prior to my HPA SHS coil-overs, but the control arms physically move the wheel location forward a little bit. Enough to now allow me to run any spacer up front. I was able to run a 5mm spacer up front and 8mm in the rear with the VWR spring setup alone. I could probably cure this with camber plates, but didn't want to run them on my car since it's going to be 100% street driven.

What a great thread. Haven't seen this before. It should have been "sticky"
Do we have a list of part numbers for the new bolt? (install kit)
I am doing this install in maby two weeks with full SuperPro bushing and LCA kit. Clubsport S swivels and H&R ARB kit front and back.

Which SuperPro LCA did you guys get? The 007K or 006K?
I think the 006K has lesser caster to compensate the rubbing up front.
This is also what I have bought.
I am running BBK kombo of TTRS 4pot caliper with vagbremtechnic disc kit.
With stock Pretoria it needs minimum 4mm spacers. I am using 10mm now and I am concerned about rubbing on big caster increase.
