What are thoughts on 17" BBS SR alloys in grey with michelin pilot sport tyres on a white mk7? I was just about to pull the trigger yesterday but held back, at £1030. And when is the best time of the year in UK to put your good wheels on? Don't wana be puttin them on now if the weathers going to ruin them

May want to make sure your car has the shipping pucks removed. Not sure I've ever seen one with such a fender gap, unless you just took it off a lift / jack. Otherwise, wheels look good.
Here's my Tornado with Pretoria replicas, specifically 18 inch DAI R75 in gunmetal.
That is quite a bit of wheel gap. I know from my time on TDI Club though, that some of the folks in the snow belt actually get their cars raised. Not sure if that is the case with that poster, but location says Toronto. Also realize he's not in a GTI, but a Golf 1.8L. They probably ride a tad higher normally.
But yeah, def check for shipping pucks too, just in case; especially in front. Looks like there may be some negative rake going on.
