30,000 Mile Service - Suggestions and Experience?

Hi all,

So recently I've surpassed 30,000 miles in my 2015 Golf 1.8T. The warranty is up and I'm wondering if any of you have opted to get service from a third party or still go back to the local VW dealership. Any suggestions? What do you all do for your services?

I'm asking from a price/cost benefit point of view. Sometimes I feel the dealership charges top price for everything (especially parts, filters, etc.)

Not for oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements and the such.

My 10,000 mile service was the only one free.

Those are scheduled services though, not warranty items.

Right, that's what I thought zmaster was posting about. Where I live, not many places have certified VW mechanics.

Thanks all for the responses. I realized that the 30k mile service was only an oil/oil filter change and tire rotation - less than I had expected. I did everything myself.
