Mahle vs. K&N (air filter)

My A/C is starting to smell, so I'm thinking of switching cabin filter.
On amazon, it showed me Mahle and K&N brand. K&N is twice more in price wise. Price doesn't matter tbh, I'm looking for quality.
The reviews for both were equally good.
Any comments if any of you used both or any of it for DIY?

Get the one with active carbon. It helps a lot

I use whatever activated carbon filter has the best price, usually Mann or Mahle.

K&N make a point of "high flow" for air filters. I'm baffled as to what expertise they think they can bring to cabin filters where in fact quality of fine particulates filtering is the goal. The car ain't gonna go faster if you increase the flow of the cabin filter..

...if it creaks, it's probably made by VAG
