Hey guys!

We recently sent a turbo out to a customer who got our V2 Hybrid. This customer is running it in his S3 so we thought we would share some results here.

Here is what the car is using:

8V S3
APR Intake
Catless Downpipe
APR Clutch Packs
APR Intercooler
APR TCU Tune
Eurodyne Masestro by MooseTuning
Stock Fuel System
E Blend(unsure currently of the blend used)

Feel free to ask questions!

Peak numbers look great. Im no expert but power seems to come late in the rev range and torque seems a tad low no?

Damn! A canadian option...

If only the price was a little lower!

What do you guys do with the OEM IS38 shaft?

Your correct! We are keeping the torque down on this tune and most tunes in particular. Keeping the boost lower at low RPM to avoid engine damage. 400wtq is safe spot for the stock internals. It can certainly spool faster than shown on this particular dyno. In the future we’re going to have some pretty serious cars getting installs finished so we can really show what this thing can do.

Well to simply put it, every single component within our unit is brand new. We do not use the IHI cartridge anymore, we use a TD06 and have engineered a way to fit the TD06 bearing housing into the IS38 compressor/turbine housings. This allows us to run a greater selection of wheels without having to modify the bearing housing and/or the shaft in order to use those wheels which can jeopardize the integrity of those parts.

On top of that we offer a one year warranty to cover any defects of craftsmanship. We only use OEM housings, other offerings you see that are much cheaper than ours - they use replica castings. We buy blown, used, and brand new cores mainly from Germany. Having said that there will be zero issues with fitment. There have been several reports of fitment issues on turbos who use replica castings. That couple hundred dollar savings is the difference in quality and after sales support you receive.

A full hardware kit that includes gaskets, big bore turbo muffler delete(inside diameter port matched on compressor housing outlet), complete lines to ensure everything is bolt on, and wastegate. Our lead time is typically 2-4 weeks, we stock cores and begin as soon as a build is booked. We believe the advantage is quality and the fact we actually build these ourself, nothing is outsourced. It’s also a huge bonus we can provide fuelling upgrades from precision raceworks along with tuning from eurodyne at stellar prices to ensure you get setup properly.

Feel free to check us out on Instagram @dbv2 or our Facebook pages DBV2 Sport Imports as well :)

Long time lurker lol,
but have to point out how correct you are about late spool time.
People don't get that with faster spool, you get a torque spike that well throw rods.
I'm running into that problem with my current setup. Ill have to build the bottom end if I want lower spool.

Yes that’s exactly it. And pushing a car under track conditions, you don’t want the torque popping the engine on you. If you check out our social media we have other cars spooling at 3200-3500. Different scenario though.

Thanks for the response by the way, hope you enjoy the Mabotech turbo!

Awesome that you guys are located in Toronto.

Maybe some day soon i'll reach out. Do you guys do installs too?

We don’t offer installation, however we do refer all local installs to Defintive Tuning in Newmarket. Typically I do go up and work my clients cars who book.
