Mk 7 suction pump recall?

I scheduled service on the recall next week, and just wanted to know if anybody had gotten it done and how long it took to finish. I'll be needing my car within a few days of me taking it in.

Any thoughts?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You may be able to get a loaner depending on your dealer. Doesn't hurt to ask mine usually give me no issues.

Run tank as low as you can.
Took 1.5hrs plus some other work during this time.

I scheduled the 30k service and had no idea of the recall. However, the dealership did the replacement and I got the car in 2 hours.

What's all involved? Drop rear subframe and suspension to get the gas tank out? If so, they need to perform a wheel alignment afterwards.

Do not be surprised if your car smells like gas for a day or two after. They have to pump the gas out so like Sandman says bring it in with as little gas as possible.

Mine was done in a little less than 2 hrs, including free first oil change and a wash. The reserve fuel light came on as I was driving there so the tank was very low. That seemed to help keep the residual gas smell to a minimum: it was gone in a few hours and they told me it could last a day or so when we picked her up!
