How to clean/remove moonroof mesh?

Hypothetical situation - Youre rolling with your moonroof open all the way, but with the mesh cover over you still. A bird takes a huge shit and it falls on the mesh. How would you go about cleaning it? Is there a way to remove the mesh cover to clean it thoroughly off the car, or are we forced to clean it with it still installed?

For the majority of it, I'd gently use a shop vac. Once that's off and you're dealing with the remainder stains, I'd think a decent microfiber and some interior cleaner should do the trick.
