Also guys note the GTI catback is NOT a standard 2.5”. It’s more like 2.7” OD. I had to get a custom 3” reducer made from a 3 to 2.5” enlarged at a muffler shop.

It's actually metric. the gti is closer to a 2-1/2" id and the golf is 2-1/4" id. A 2-1/4" od will slip inside the golf pipe nicely. The 2-1/2" od is a little tight for the gti, but you can cut some slits into the 2-1/2" and get it in.

I started off with a muffler delete only and that made a difference in sound. So if you want more sound but not loud I recommend that. I later added a Vibrant Res in place of my stock res to make it louder and decrease drone which Im happy with. Of course it might be too loud for different people.

Was the Vibrant 1790 a weld on job?

Yes it was welded on. Cut off the stock res, welded the other on. I still have both muffler and res though in my shed.

I’ve actually deleted resonator in my 1.8 Leon. With stock DP and stock suitcase muffler it gives little bit „sporty” sound. Drone? Barely audible in 1800-1850 range.
I hope you get notifications and remember

in your video, the car sounds really loud when you accelerate hard, is that true?

Thanks
